In this mineral lab, students will be challenged to investigate the physical properties of 5 unknown mineral samples. Students will then identify the name of each sample using a list of 7 potential suspects.

Background Info
This lab allows students to practice identifying and testing mineral physical characteristics of color, luster, streak, hardness, and cleavage/fracture.
In addition, students will identify trends based on the Mohs Hardness scale and the data they gathered from the lab.
In the final post-lab question, students are asked to write a CER about one of the samples.
